Value and Quality on the way from the High Point Furniture Market

Our Castleberry’s buying team headed to the High Point furniture market last week for our bi-annual trip to the furniture captial of the world.  We’ve told you about all the new colors making the furniture fashion headlines – out with brown and in with yellow, pewter – and oh! blue is back!  Big floral print accent chairs made a statement and comfortable rocker, swivel chairs held  positions on most upholstery showroom floors.

This market, the Castleberry’s group went with a misson – to find new products that would fit the quality standards and  the customer service we expect from our manufacturers and would present an exceptional value to our customers.  In our quest, we visited over 40 showrooms.  And we were not disappointed.

Most of us have been affected by the economic downturn in the last year or more.  The retail furniture industy has been hard hit and continues to wait for  buyers to return to the market.  As they begin to return, we think that our customers will spend their money carefully,  looking for quality as they are leery of buying “disposable furniture.”  People don’t want to throw their money away, but instead want to invest in their homes.  But our customer’s want value.  They want furniture that they can enjoy for years and they don’t have to pay for it for years!

Over the next few months, we will be bringing some of the products in that we think fit the bill – style and value, without sacrificing quality.   Look for new upholstery lines that offer lots of options, but at lower prices; bedroom, dining room and casual dining furniture that is stylish, functional and is available at great prices!

The 40 employees of Castleberry’s Fine Furniture and their families appreciate your business over the last 46 years and we will continue to work hard to earn your business.   Please tell your friends and families about Castleberry’s  Fine Furniture.  And we hope to see you soon in one of our stores soon!

October 2009 Furniture Market

It is so exciting to post our first blog from the High Point, NC furniture market, so here I go. We left Atlanta at 7:30 Thursday morning and made the 5 hour trip to High Point; not before making our regular stop at the Waffle House in Commerce, GA.  We received the best customer service from “Nana”   You must understand that we can be a pretty high maintenance group even for the Waffle House.  Stephanie (casegoods buyer) received all 8 of her Apple Butters for her 1 pancake (yes I said 8).   Randy(operations manager) had his 2 Splendas and 2 Sweet-n-Lows for his iced tea; you can just imagine how the rest of the Waffle House adventure went.

The colors shown at this market are definitely exciting and different.  We saw a lot of purple, grey/silver, lighter blues and cornflower yellow.  Beige is still all over the place and being shown with wild floral prints.  Stripes and paisleys are everywhere!  Beautiful combinations of color and print set the stage.

The color trends in leather sounded a lot like a delectable menu at an exotic restaurant.  Browns were referred to as hazelnut, mocha, caramel and dark chocolate – it made me hungry just hearing the colors.  If you are feeling more adventurous, the colors get wild – but still appetizing in warm spa blues, hot and vibrant orange and wasabi green.  A veritable feast for the eyes! Stay tuned to Castleberry’s to know  when the new colors begin arriving.  If you can’t wait, come by – we’re glad to see you anytime!
